Supreme Court Fools

In this article we are told that justices Ginsburg and Stevens wonder where the "line should be drawn." (With respect to the display of religious symbols in public buildings.)

Where in these 16 words-- "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof" is the confusion? This is 9th grade English folks. You don't need to go to law school to understand it, which is the point of it's simplicity.

How exactly does posting wisdom literature from a religious text establish a religion? Or does it somehow prohibit the free exercise of someone's religion?

I say this as someone with a graduate level degree who is presently pursuing yet another one --in general, the amount of education one attains is inversely proportionate to that person's ability to comprehend simple logic and common sense. It is a rare individual who survives graduate school and remains lucid. My 8 year old nefew could understand this. He should probably be on the supreme court.
