The U.S. leads, the world follows

As usual, it only takes a little courage on the part of the U.S. to get the world thinking about social injustices like genocide all over the globe. Is it possible that the UN may actually be starting to take it's original charter and purpose seriously? If so, is the Unisted States and it's championing of such ideals through force a coincidence?
